Welcome to GrappleTV.com, where we are committed to keeping the Jiu-Jitsu community apprised of current events. This is a new online magazine, in which we hope to provide you with the latest from the BJJ community. We will specifically bring you news, interviews, tournament dates, reviews of past tournaments, editorials, comedy, seminar dates, downloads, and video tapes/DVD's of tournaments. Since Southern California is the Mecca of BJJ and Grappling outside of Brazil, we will be covering all the local events. Our concentration will be focused on BJJ and No-Gi events; however, NHB will not be overlooked.

Since we are dedicated to you, we invite you to give us your feedback on what you liked, didn't like or what you would like to see more of. We are also looking for stories, interviews and editorials provided by other practitioners/fans of Jiu-Jitsu. If you are looking for an outlet to express yourself regarding this intriguing game, we just might give you a chance. Submit your item to us. No, we can't pay you just yet, but it will give you an opportunity to work on your writing skills and to see your name "in lights". It may just be the stepping-stone you need to get to the next level.

BJJ black belt Ed Beneville has teamed-up with BJJ black belt Joe Moreira to publish "The Guard". This lastes book is a follow-up to Beneville's "Passing The Guard", co-authored with fellow BJJ black belt Tim Cartmell.

The Guard reveals the secrets of Joe Moreira's guard technique, developed and refined over his thirty nine years studying and teaching martial arts. In this volume he shares the fundamentals of his jiu-jitsu, the specific details needed to make it work, and technique ranging from beginning to advanced. The philosophy in this book, and of Moreira's teaching style, is that it is better to understand groups of moves/options from given positions, than isolated moves. This is an exposition of sequences of moves from specific situations, not a collection of random moves. The Guard shows not only how to attack or defend from a position but also how to respond to an opponent's likely reactions.

Continuing in the model of Grappling Arts Publications first volume, Passing the Guard, The Guard provides a revolutionary approach in its visual presentations. Techniques are shown from multiple angles. Key points are illustrated. Photo sequences are laid out in intuitive, easy-to-follow patterns.

~ If you purchase this book from GRAPPLETV.COM, we will throw in a complimentary copy of one of our DVD's, either the So. Cal. Pro-Am Invitational DVD or Joe Moreira's Black Belt Challenge DVD, for FREE!
