Saturday August 19, 2017, San Diego, California, SubCon launched their first of many events in their Kids Pro Series,  This event showcased many local boys and girls from San Diego and other SoCal schools.  The card featured mostly yellow, some orange and some blue belts all doing superfights, the first time kids would be featured for SubCon.  It seems the matchmaker managed to get the right competitors to make all the fights competitive.  An exciting night for all those who were in attendance.

As with other SubCon promotions, there was a DJ, a stage with raised seating, and the voice himself, Tony Torres as the EmCee. Shawn Fowler, SubCon promoter said, "this was the pilot that set the tone for others to follow.  And it was an amazing evening filled with young and talented Jiu Jitsu practitioners.  this platform is for everyone to experience the future of Jiu Jitsu"

As the promoters/judges were trying to determine who had the Submission of the Night, they were torn between Xavier Silva and Jose Angulo, the two crowds favorites. They then asked the crowd to determine who won Submission of the Night. As the promoter pointed to Xavier, the crowd in the front lower section cheered frantically.  The promoter then pointed to Jose, and the crowd seated mid level cheered with equal enthusiasm.  With the crowd still in a frenzy and evenly split between Xavier and Jose, the promoter decided to have them fight to see who'd receive the Submission of the Night Belt.  Both competitors were eager to go to battle for the rights to the additional bet, while the crowd went wild with the announcement.  And in the end, in a tough battle, Xavier defeats Jose by his 2nd Kimora of the night, to win the belt.  An epic way to end the showcase,   Expect more in this series from SubCon.
